Tembea adopt a dynamic horizontal structure which has core components of the membership that works through sub-committees, Advisory Board, and the secretariat. However, the Advisory board is the key management body. Daily activities are coordinated by the secretariat which headed by the executive director. The executive director links the board of the management, membership and the secretariat.

Jared Omondi Buoga
Jared Omondi Buoga is the Founder and Executive Director of Tembea. He is a graduate from Egerton University with Bachelor of Science Degree in Natural Resource Management. He also has training on sustainability from the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology, Zurich – Switzerland, and Stellenbosch, South Africa, under the auspices of Alliance for Global Sustainability (AGS). Mr. Buoga is endowed with a wide experience in strategies for sustainable development at both grassroots and international levels. His focus is community empowerment within a healthy environment, geospatial analysis and use of GIS in natural resource development planning and development, climate change, energy issues, livelihood programming, conflict management, gender mainstreaming, and HIV/AIDS. He is currently pursuing a Master’s of Science Degree on Climate Change at the University of Nairobi.

Job Nyangoka Orina
Mr. Nyangoka is the programmes coordinator in Tembea. He has a Bachelor of Science in Disaster Management and Sustainable Development from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. Job has trained and extensively worked on climate change, public finance management, public participation, democracy and governance, conflict mitigation, gender responsive budgeting and gender mainstreaming, policy formulation and implementation, monitoring and evaluation, designing and implementing livelihood options for communities, human rights issues, transitional justice issues, decentralized governance, e governance, HIV/AIDS and others. He was nominated as a Children and Youth Facilitator on Sustainable Development at the Tunza Youth Conference in Bandung Indonesia in 2011. He also represented Kenya and African youth at the 3rd African University on Youth and Development held at Sal, Cape Verde in 2011. Currently a facilitator on leadership and integrity/human rights and youths for USAID, IEA and Chemi Chemi ya Ukweli among others.

He has worked has trained and worked in the public finance management sector with great interest on devolved funds in Kenya, youth and human rights, MDGs, local capital mobilization amongst others. Victor John Omondi
Mr. Omondi a graduate in Sustainable Development and Disaster Mitigation from Masinde Muliro University of Science and Technology. He is also an IT specialist. He has undergone Training on Project Design, Planning and Management. Victor is a T.O.T on Solar Cooking and Water Pasteurization and Community Savings and Loaning Programmes. Victor has interest in activities and programmes that will enable communities attain sustainable livelihoods as they adapt to and mitigate the impacts of Climate Change- the mother of Disasters in the world. Zephaniah Ajode Migeni
Is a graduate in Tourism and Wildlife Management from Moi University, and also hold a Certificate in Tour guiding and Tours Administration from the Center for Tourism Training and Research College. He is an apprentice Earth keeper with the Institute of Earth Education, West Virginia U.S.A. He has undergone various environmental training programs both abroad and in Kenya. He is also a graduate from Earthcorps, Seattle, WA, United States and Earthwatch Europe. He is a great essay writer and has won several nationwide environmental essay including UNEP, KOEE, WCK, NEMA, AFEW-Giraffe Center in 2010 amongst others. Zeph has worked with communities in Tucson, Arizona U.S.A on conserving the Saguaro National Park with the University of Arizona and Cooper Environmental Science Campus. In Kenya, he has worked with various environmental organizations on conserving Kenya’s biodiversity and helped low-income communities initiate sustainable livelihood improvement projects, especially in Lake Victoria Basin. Zeph is a very passionate conservationist, who keeps himself busy with Bird watching, travelling, biking, watching wildlife movies and socializing. His passion and humour makes him a great person especially in working with local communities and he has acted as a great inspiration to the youths of Kenya.

Joshua Omondi Amolo
Joshua is in charge of implementation of the Community Savings and loaning project at Tembea. He has educational background in Social work and community development worked with CARE international for the past 8 years under community savings and loans methodology as a community trainer, women voices project as a ToT on socio-economic empowerment, family planning results initiative project as social transformation champion. Have been engaged with a number of development partners as a development consultant in community savings and loaning methodology and enterprise development. He also has a stint in facilitating drama and theatre for development. Joshua loves having light moments with friends, adventure, travelling and working with communities.
